The camouflage for Army Leaf started in 1940's
The design basis for this pattern started in German durning the Second World War. Liebermuster was the pattern but little to no actual issueing of it. It was adopted by Swissterland in the 50's. The US Army started testing version known as ERDL and in the 60's issued some fatigues of this pattern for use in Vietnam. All branches of the US armed forces issued a version known as M81 in 1981. Since then almost every color combination has been tried for fashion and outdoor uses.
